Jamaal Charles, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, will take part in an assembly at Reeds Spring Middle School Gymnasium on Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m. to reward the school for being selected as a national winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Draft and to recognize the students’ efforts to eat healthy and stay active.

Josh Miller, a student from Basswood Elementary School in Maple Grove (District 279), experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet renowned business leader Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. today as part of GENYOUth Foundation’s AdVenture Capital grant program. Midwest Dairy Awards Four South Dakota Schools with Prizes, NFL Player Visits for Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Efforts

This school year, four South Dakota schools are being rewarded for their efforts to get active, eat healthy and make a difference in their schools. Students and adult advisors at Garfield Elementary in Sioux Falls and Woonsocket Elementary in Woonsocket earned Grand Prize honors in the state’s Fuel Up to Play 60 School Champions contest. Robert Frost Elementary in Sioux Falls took second place, and Edison Middle School claimed third prize in the contest.
