Hi! I am Carolyn Suerth Hudson, a registered and licensed dietitian (RD, LD). All fancy words for letting you know that I am licensed to help you make sense of dairy nutrition. My job at Midwest Dairy Council is being the dairy nutrition expert skilled at boiling down dairy science to make it understandable. I love being a dietitian and have worked for more than 30 years in the United States and Canada.

I am very active in my profession and currently president elect of the Minnesota Dietetic Association. I also sit on the Corporate Advisory Council, Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians and the University of Minnesota Dietetic Internship Advisory Council.

I have two amazing adult sons that grew up knowing all about eating healthfully, and today are excellent cooks and love to garden. My passions are nutrition, food, cooking, the outdoors, all things water, volunteering in Haiti and travel. One thing I love to do when travelling is find and explore the local food market.

I love gardening and grow many herbs and vegetables. My boys would accuse me of serving them weeds every summer. But surprise, I was giving them a mix of lettuces with herbs and edible flowers from our backyard garden.

I currently live in Minnesota, however was born in Milwaukee and have also lived in California, Vancouver, Toronto, Saint John and a remote community just south of Hudson’s Bay, Canada. My experiences living and working in these places have given me perspective and depth not only in my profession but also life.
