Top Tips for Procuring, Offering, and Serving Milk

  • Kids like cold milk! Check out our milk storage and serving tips
  • Approach your school foodservice department to procure milk. They are serving lots of it every day! Most often, you’ll find it is more economical – not to mention easier – to purchase milk inside the school than transporting it from other outlets.
  • If procuring milk through school foodservice is not an option, check availability of individually packaged milk with local warehouse clubs, retail stores, and restaurants.
  • Fundraisers have been a successful way for some sports teams to pay for chocolate milk for their teams.
  • Students or their parents are often willing to pay for chocolate milk. Offer cold milk out of a cooler or refrigerator for after workouts and games. It’s an economical choice that has superior nutritional benefits!
  • Talk to your local milk vendor and explain your program. They may be able to assist.
  • Involve coaches, athletes, parents, boosters – anyone who can contribute to make your program a success.
  • Offer chocolate milk in as many places as possible: the locker room, gym, concessions, at school events and during the school day.
