Dairy Vending

Dairy Vending is an excellent strategy to make sure students have convenient opportunities to make healthy choices throughout the school campus and increase their consumption of milk, cheese, and yogurt. The contributions of milk, cheese, and yogurt to the nutrient needs of children is identified in the 2010 Dietary Guidelines. Milk is the number one food source of three of the four nutrients that both children and adults are lacking and need to consume more of - Vitamin D, calcium, and potassium. The addition of dairy can be the cornerstone to a healthy vending program and a healthy school campus.
