Finalists for 60th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Title Named

This year’s finalists for the title of Princess Kay of the Milky Way have been named. The 12 young women from dairy farm backgrounds were selected at the conclusion of a three-day event for county dairy princesses held in St. Joseph. Each of the 12 will be sculpted in butter during the 2013 Minnesota State Fair. Princess Kay is crowned each year the night before the State Fair opens.
National Dairy Council, Midwest Dairy Council and National Football League Reward Reeds Spring Middle School for Drafting Students to Lead Fuel Up to Play 60 Program

Jamaal Charles, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, will take part in an assembly at Reeds Spring Middle School Gymnasium on Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m. to reward the school for being selected as a national winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Draft and to recognize the students’ efforts to eat healthy and stay active.

Josh Miller, a student from Basswood Elementary School in Maple Grove (District 279), experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet renowned business leader Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting in Omaha, Neb. today as part of GENYOUth Foundation’s AdVenture Capital grant program.
