Twelve young women involved with the Iowa dairy community will compete to win the title of 65th Iowa State Dairy Princess Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Multi-Media Center of the Cattle Barn at the state fairgrounds in Des Moines. The princess and her alternate are charged with helping consumers learn more about dairy products and the farm families who tend the farms and cows that provide them.

That’s S’more Like It malts and sundaes – made with Minnesota dairy farmers’ secret, State Fair-recipe vanilla ice cream or malt, topped with graham cereal, teeny marshmallows and chocolate syrup – will join the traditional flavors at Midwest Dairy’s Dairy Goodness Bar at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

In celebration of National Dairy Month, the Marcoots will tell the story of their seventh-generation family owned dairy farm.
Dairy princesses from across Minnesota gathered for the Dairy Promotion and Leadership Event held May 18-20 at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. The weekend consisted of a leadership training, a chance to compete for a finalist spot for Princess Kay of the Milky Way and plenty of networking opportunities.
