Chiefs Award Hometown Grant to Schools in Kansas City

April 2016 | 0 comments

The Kansas City Chiefs Community of Caring Team and Midwest Dairy Council visited Silver City Elementary to bring a special surprise to the KC Wolf assembly the school won through Fuel Up to Play 60. In addition to the visit from KC Wolf and his team, former linebacker Anthony Davis, a Chiefs ambassador, dropped by to award the Kansas City, Kansas, Public School District with the 2015/16 Hometown Grant.

The $10,000 grant will help support healthy nutrition, including dairy, and physical activity programs in 38 of the district’s schools. The district has already purchased Fuel Up to Play 60 stencils for painting healthy messages and recess activities on the pavements at these buildings.

The grant is wonderful. It’s going to help our district and really promote a healthy lifestyle.
