New Fuel Up to Play 60 Equipment Grants Awarded in Peoria

Three Peoria Public Schools were awarded funding as part of the new USDA/Fuel Up to Play 60 Equipment Grant partnership to support grab-and-go breakfast programs. The school nutrition director turned to Midwest Dairy Council and the new grants when school administrators committed to bringing breakfast to the classroom at three schools starting in April.

University of Iowa Dietetic Interns Visit Dairy Farm

Six University of Iowa dietetic interns had the chance to visit a dairy farm as part of their community rotation. The visited Schanbacher Acres in Atkins to learn about dairy cow comfort, diet and the farm's sustainability measures, all while walking among the dairy cows in the barn.

Nutrition and Dietetics Meeting Includes Farm Tour

In collaboration with the Minnesota Beef Council and Monsanto, Midwest Dairy Council hosted a beef and dairy farm tour for 17 Minnesota registered dietitian nutritionists the day prior to the Minnesota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic’s annual conference.
