Connecting young consumers to dairy: Midwest Dairy hosts influencer farm visits

This fall, Midwest Dairy partnered with five lifestyle influencers across four states to help young consumers see where their milk comes from and meet the farm families behind it. These creators, each with their own voice, audience, and storytelling style, visited local dairy farms to experience firsthand how farmers care for their cows, land, and communities. The goal was simple: connect Gen Z to dairy through authentic stories shared by people they already follow and trust.

As part of Midwest Dairy’s broader effort to build trust and reinforce transparency, these farm tours offered a unique window into daily dairy farming practices, from sustainability efforts to animal care routines.

Influencers Visit Real Midwest Dairy Farms

Each influencer toured a different dairy farm, giving their audiences a behind-the-scenes look at modern farming:

During the visits, influencers asked questions, met the families, watched milking routines, and learned about everything from feed and nutrition to cow comfort and environmental stewardship. Their authentic reactions helped viewers see dairy farming through fresh eyes, curious, open-minded, and grounded in real experience.

Reaching Gen Z Through Authentic Storytelling

Across five long-form videos and more than 40 reels, the campaign generated over 128,000 views and 2,800 engagements. These posts highlighted meaningful themes that resonate deeply with Gen Z: intentional choices, transparency, sustainability, and connecting with real people.

By showing the care farmers put into every decision, from cow housing and bedding to responsible land use, the influencers helped their followers understand that dairy farming is built on compassion, responsibility, and family values. Their storytelling made complex topics relatable and easy to understand, helping bridge the gap between consumers and agriculture.

Connecting to New Audiences in a Modern Way

This influencer-driven approach continues Midwest Dairy’s strategy of meeting consumers where they already spend time, online, on social platforms, and in the feeds of voices they trust. Sharing dairy’s story through authentic creators helps strengthen trust, build understanding, and remind young consumers that dairy farming is about much more than producing milk.
