2026 IS THE YEAR OF THE
International Year of the Woman Farmer
In 2026, the United Nations has designated an International Year of the Woman Farmer, recognizing the essential role women play in feeding the world and sustaining rural communities. Across the Midwest, women are integral to dairy farming—leading operations, advancing animal care and sustainability, managing businesses, and shaping the future of family farms. From the barn to the boardroom, their leadership, innovation, and commitment strengthen our farms and our food system every day. Throughout this year, Midwest Dairy is proud to celebrate and share the stories of women dairy farmers from our region, honoring their contributions, their resilience, and the lasting impact they make on our communities and our industry.
