Midwest Dairy partnered with Coborn’s Inc. this spring to highlight the versatility and nutrition of Greek yogurt in a special Kids in the Kitchen segment on Twin Cities Live. The segment featured Coborn’s Registered Dietitian Macey Brickweg and young chef-in-training Stella, who shared fun, easy, and protein-packed recipes that the whole family can enjoy.

The recipes showcased Greek yogurt as a high-quality protein source that’s naturally lower in lactose and incredibly versatile in both sweet and savory dishes. This partnership supports recent industry insights showing that families are increasingly prioritizing high-quality protein. Dairy fits the bill, providing all nine essential amino acids kids need for healthy growth and energy.

The excitement continued into early May with Coborn’s Kids Cook at Home virtual class, themed “Mother’s Day Brunch & Bake”. More than 121 kids joined from home kitchens to prepare delicious, dairy-filled dishes with their families, including:

  • French Toast with Maple Yogurt & Fruit Topping
A creamy, protein-packed alternative to syrup—more nutrients, less sugar!
  • Cocoa Yogurt Strawberry Smash Sandwich
A fun, lower-lactose option using Greek yogurt as a chocolatey protein base.
  • Fruit Salsa Yogurt Parfaits
A probiotic-packed, flavorful twist on traditional parfaits.

Families had plenty of positive feedback to share! One parent said, “We loved the recipes. Everyone was unsure about the fruit salsa at first, but we gobbled it all up!” Another shared, “My 8-year-old made the French toast on Mother’s Day – with help from her teenage brothers! It was so fun to watch them. We love French toast, but this recipe went the extra mile!” And perhaps the sweetest review of all: “The topping had way less sugar than syrup -and tasted even better!”

While the campaign didn’t meet sales projections, it successfully increased milk movement and raised awareness of Greek yogurt’s benefits for growing kids. Most importantly, it empowered children to get involved in the kitchen by building confidence, creating fun family memories, and learning how dairy fuels their day.
