Midwest Dairy partnered with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) Campus Recreation team during Big Red Welcome weekend, connecting with students through two exciting events: Husker Mania and the Well-Being Fest.
On August 22, more than 1,200 students packed Husker Mania. At the Midwest Dairy table, students took on a Dairy Dash Game challenge, which included feeding the cow through a bean bag toss. Along the way, they learned how dairy cows contribute to sustainability, such as utilizing their four-compartment stomachs to “upcycle” foods humans can’t eat and prevent them from ending up in landfills. After the game, students left with fun dairy swag and a better understanding of how farmers care for the planet.
Hiland Dairy handed out 1,400 pints of chocolate milk, 600 ice cream bars, and sandwiches, reminding students that dairy is both delicious and nutritious.
On August 23, approximately 200 students participated in the Well-Being Fest. Midwest Dairy hosted an interactive trivia wheel testing students’ knowledge about wellness, sustainability, and dairy cow care. A Dairy Ambassador supported both events, creating peer-to-peer conversations that really resonated with students.

These activations demonstrate the effectiveness of Midwest Dairy’s partnership with UNL Campus Recreation. By engaging students in fun and memorable ways, Midwest Dairy shared dairy’s sustainability story, highlighted its role in a healthy lifestyle, and built trust with Gen Z audiences.
