Midwest Dairy participated in the Summer Ag Institute in Taylorville, Illinois, during National Dairy Month, helping educators better understand the state’s dairy industry and the resources available to bring agriculture into their classrooms.

Illinois Farmer Relations Intern Emma Wiker led a presentation highlighting the economic impact of dairy in Illinois, sustainable farming practices, and the nutrition benefits of dairy foods. Educators also explored Midwest Dairy classroom resources, including Discover Dairy, Adopt-A-Cow, Fields of STEM, and the Midwest Dairy website.

An interactive lesson, “How Much Soil Is There?”, demonstrated how educators can incorporate dairy and agriculture into engaging, hands-on classroom activities while reinforcing key agricultural concepts.

Midwest Dairy’s participation helped strengthen relationships with educators, build trust in dairy, and equip teachers with tools to incorporate accurate, science-based dairy education into their classrooms.
