Fresh, local, and Undeniably Dairy – Cub Foods’ summer celebration

This summer, Cub Foods partnered with Midwest Dairy to bring farm-fresh goodness to shoppers through two major activations celebrating local dairy in fun and flavorful ways.

The first highlight was Cub’s Summer Magazine, which inspired family fun with summertime recipes featuring real dairy. Ice cream took center stage, paired with creative ideas that reminded shoppers why dairy is the ultimate summer essential.

The second activation focused on June Dairy Month, highlighting dairy’s powerful local story. Research shows that nearly half of consumers say they would buy more dairy if they knew it came from a local farm—so Cub made sure they did. Throughout June, shoppers were greeted with bold “Shop the freshest dairy in town” messaging and enticing promotions at the door. From milk and cheese to yogurt and cream, Cub made it easy for families to celebrate dairy all month long.

Together, these efforts generated over 750,000 impressions, keeping dairy top of mind during one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year. While a cybersecurity attack temporarily paused some activations and impacted sales, the campaign still delivered strong visibility and reinforced the message that buying local means supporting farm families.

As we move into fall, Midwest Dairy and Cub remain committed to sharing the story of fresh, local, high-quality dairy with consumers. That momentum will continue with upcoming retail activations, including exciting tailgating promotions designed to drive sales and build even stronger trust in dairy.
