ST. PAUL, Minn. – The May Leadership and Promotion Event that gathers dairy princesses from across the state, scheduled for May 15-17, 2020, has been canceled. The Princess Committee and staff have decided to rely on technology to continue with the judging portion of the event virtually.
“These are unprecedented times. We appreciate all the support as we adjust our plans and develop creative ways to continue to celebrate these young women at a time when it’s recommended that we don’t gather in large groups,” said Theresa Reps, Agriculture Affairs manager at Midwest Dairy.
Given the complexity of doing all the judging virtually, judging is only available to those who wish to compete for Princess Kay of the Milky Way. In previous years, dairy princesses could choose to participate in the process without competing. The virtual judging will take place on the same day as previously scheduled, May 16, 2020.
In lieu of the selection banquet, the 10 finalists will be announced on Princess Kay’s Facebook Page on May 17 at 2 p.m.
