On August 4, Midwest Dairy joined more than 4,000 CareerTech professionals at the 58th Annual Oklahoma Summit, hosted by the Oklahoma Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). This event is Oklahoma’s largest for career and technical educators, offering opportunities to network, collaborate, and explore innovative classroom resources.
At the exhibition, Midwest Dairy connected with teachers and advisors to showcase high school-level, standards-aligned classroom tools. These included badged learning units, assessments, and interactive resources designed to spark curiosity by blending dairy with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). By introducing educators to these materials, Midwest Dairy continues its mission to make dairy both educational and inspiring in the classroom.
As part of the event, Midwest Dairy surveyed nearly 200 educators across various CareerTech disciplines, including Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, STEM, Health Science, and Human Services. The brief survey focused on one question: Do they currently use food and agriculture to teach science?
The results will help guide Midwest Dairy’s future efforts, ensuring its resources align with educators’ needs and provide relevant, meaningful tools that connect classroom learning to the real-world role of agriculture.
Participating in events like the Oklahoma Summit reflects Midwest Dairy’s ongoing commitment to supporting educators who shape tomorrow’s leaders. By equipping teachers with engaging, standards-aligned resources, the organization strengthens the connection between students and the dairy story, raising awareness of the people, science, and sustainability behind dairy farming.
