Morolake Akinosun, a Team Milk sprinter and gold medal Olympian, is inspiring retailers and consumers with her story through this summer’s “Nourishing What’s Next” campaign. In a video created by Midwest Dairy, parallel stories of an Olympian’s and farmer’s resilience during uncertain times and their commitment to consuming and producing nutritious dairy are shared.
Akinosun shared the video on her Instagram and Facebook in early August. Currently, the Instagram post has 338,083 views and the Facebook post has 506,000 views. Chicago retailer Jewel-Osco is also holding a “Nourishing What’s Next” campaign across 188 store locations. Akinosun’s story of resilience and the role dairy plays in it is featured on in-store signage and across Jewel-Osco and Akinosun’s social media channels. These posts are being further amplified on Midwest Dairy’s social channels.
To drive dairy demand, Jewel-Osco is holding an Undeniably Dairy contest challenging the brand’s dairy department managers to maximize dairy sales. The top store in each district will win a store luncheon and the grand prize winner will receive a personalized message from the Olympian.
The “Nourishing What’s Next” campaign serves to help spread the message of personal resilience and inspiring trust in dairy.
