This spring, Wellness Warriors Caroline Weeks and Krystal Dunham presented at state Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics conferences in Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, highlighting the newest Dietary Guidelines and the role of dairy nutrition across the lifespan. At the Illinois conference, Midwest Dairy staff participated as exhibitors and supported a digital landing page on the state Academy website to extend access to dairy nutrition resources.
A key focus of these efforts was the evolving science supporting the benefits of dairy at all fat levels. Presenters shared evidence-based insights on how dairy can be part of healthy eating patterns from childhood through older adulthood, helping translate current nutrition guidance into practical, real-world application.
These conferences bring together influential nutrition professionals, including registered dietitians who directly support patients, clients, and consumers in their daily work. Opportunities like these are an important part of building strong partnerships with nutrition professionals and reinforcing credible, research-backed guidance on dairy’s role in healthy dietary patterns.
In addition to the presentations, digital communications and resources were shared, extending the reach to members who were unable to attend the conferences.
For dairy farmers, programs like this help ensure checkoff-funded nutrition outreach is reaching influential health professionals who directly shape consumer perceptions and food choices. By providing credible, science-based dairy education, Midwest Dairy helps strengthen trust in dairy nutrition and keeps dairy top of mind in healthcare and wellness conversations.
