Midwest Dairy is committed to engaging with dairy farmers and sharing how their checkoff investments support dairy promotion. These interactions provide an opportunity for questions to be asked and answered, as well as for an in-depth exploration of activities across the 10-state region. The Central Plains Dairy Expo, held March 26-27 in Sioux Falls, SD, was an excellent opportunity to connect with dairy farmers from across the region.

During the trade show, Midwest Dairy engaged with dairy farmers and advocates, sharing checkoff information and opportunities for leadership and advocacy. Visitors to the Midwest Dairy booth were welcomed by Farmer Relations staff, CEO Corey Scott, Midwest Dairy Corporate Board Chair Charles Krause, and South Dakota Dairy Ambassadors. The booth offered a space for meaningful dialogue and questions, featuring video footage of checkoff initiatives and an interactive spin wheel- a fun way for dairy farmers to learn about how Midwest Dairy promotes dairy’s sustainable nutrition story.

On Wednesday afternoon, Midwest Dairy hosted a Taste & Learn Experience for dairy farmers and advocates. This interactive session showcased checkoff investments in research, insights, and innovation to introduce new dairy products to the consumer marketplace, which in turn impacts dairy sales and trust. Featured products included General Mills Nature Valley YoBark and Dundee Popcorn—two new products launched in the past year with checkoff support. Samples of these products allowed farmers to taste innovative dairy items that consumers are enjoying today, while also learning more about their relationship with Midwest Dairy.

The evening concluded with a networking reception in partnership with several organizations, including the Iowa State Dairy Association, Minnesota Milk Producers Association, Nebraska State Dairy Association, South Dakota Dairy Producers, Western Iowa Dairy Alliance, and Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative. Midwest Dairy looks forward to continued opportunities to engage with dairy farmers and share the checkoff’s efforts to enhance trust and sales with consumers.
