September’s Promotion in Action showcases Midwest Dairy’s dynamic efforts to promote dairy through education, innovation, retail partnerships, and community engagement across the region. Inside you’ll read:

  • Promotion Meets Research in South Dakota: Vaishali Poswal, a Dairy Ambassador and SDSU graduate student, is blending outreach with science. Her research on Listeria in dairy environments—funded by the Midwest Dairy Food Research Center—aims to enhance food safety and consumer confidence.
  • Scooter’s Coffee & “Clear the List” Campaign: Midwest Dairy partnered with Scooter’s Coffee to support South Dakota teachers, raising $24,000 and helping 415 educators. The campaign also boosted sales by 11.52%, showcasing dairy’s role in community-driven success.
  • Kwik Trip/Kwik Star Seasonal LTOs: Limited-time offers like Chocolate Strawberry ice cream and Chocolate Milkshake milk drove over 428,000 incremental pounds of milk sales. Midwest Dairy supported the launch with in-store signage, digital ads, and radio promotions.
  • Cub Foods Summer Celebration: Cub Foods highlighted local dairy with summer activations and the “Freshest in Town” campaign. Despite a cybersecurity hiccup, the effort generated 750,000+ impressions and featured dairy-rich recipes in Cub’s Summer Magazine.
  • ILLCF La Plática Roundtable at Illinois State Fair: Latino legislators and ag leaders gathered to discuss Illinois agriculture. Dairy farmers shared personal stories, and V&V Supremo Foods’ Chihuahua cheese earned Grand Champion honors in the state’s dairy product contest.
  • Ag Innovation Experience with Bayer: Midwest Dairy and Bayer hosted a farm tour for health professionals, focusing on sustainability, cow care, and combating misinformation. The event reinforced dairy’s role in a modern, transparent food system.
  • UNL’s Big Red Welcome: Over 1,400 students engaged with Midwest Dairy at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln through games, trivia, and giveaways. The event spotlighted dairy’s sustainability and nutritional value for Gen Z audiences.
  • Always-On Influencer Campaign: Nine influencers across ten states shared dairy-themed content on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The campaign reached 1.72 million impressions and 51,000+ engagements, connecting dairy with Gen Z’s lifestyle and values.
  • Illinois Dietitians Explore Soil-to-Health Connection: At the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Fall Workshop, nearly 50 dietitians learned how soil health impacts human health. Farmers shared how technology ensures dairy safety and sustainability.
  • Dairy Fuels College Athletics: Midwest Dairy expanded partnerships with Husker Athletics, Fighting Illini, and SDSU. Athlete-led content, trivia games, and fan activations like the “Flex Cam” promoted dairy as essential fuel for performance and recovery.
